Planning and preparation is the #1 secret to eating healthy. 

Sounds simple however most people do not take the time or don’t plan it into their schedule. So why is that…not important, don’t know what to do, think it will take too much time, would rather be doing something else…

I am here to tell you my friend, planning & preparation does not have to take a lot of time! And what is the goal anyway?? If eating healthy is your goal (with I am sure many sub-goals like feeling better, having more energy, reaching your ideal weight, addressing specific health parameters) than keep your eye on the prize and put in a little effort to achieve your goals!

Believe me, the stress you will feel for not following through with planning and preparing will take up far more of your time. In addition, when you aren’t prepared or haven’t planned ahead, you will most likely make decisions you wish you hadn’t, like grabbing fast food, or not eating, or eating something that totally doesn’t help you reach your goal.

My Secret to Eating Healthy this week

#1 Secret to Eating HealthyLast Sunday my husband & I chose to take some time in the morning to get things done. We divided and conquered – he took care of getting rid of the weeds in our front yard and pressure washing the driveway and walkway. I cut up a bunch of veggies and placed them in glass containers. This one item is soooo helpful to make it easy to grab veggies to eat raw with a meal. Also to have your veggies already washed and cut up shortens meal prep big time when preparing dinner. While I was cutting up veggies I started the quinoa going and made a big pot of lentil veggie soup. When that was all done, since I was on a roll, I also made my dairy free cream sauce.

What a GREAT feeling it is to look in the refrigerator and see all the prepared food waiting for us to eat. Plus the hubby doesn’t have any excuses for not grabbing some veggies for his lunch. 🙂 It is now Friday morning and we still have some cut up veggies and one more serving of the soup. What a HUGE time saver all week and our secret to eating healthy!
